I’m in Brazil and I haven’t been a subscriber in ~1yr. For me, it’s the price. I keep Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, even HBO Max, because I’m stupid — I don’t watch any of these enough to make a monthly subscription worth it. But they’re all priced below my fuzzy definition of “expensive”, so I keep procrastinating their elimination.

However, that’s me. For people who actually spend any amount of regular time watching streaming shows, I think Netflix slightly higher price may have a positive effect: while I’m good with paying a low price for a service I’m barely using, people who pay a premium for Netflix probably watch it more. There’s probably a sense of “I need to get my money’s worth with this shit” going on, which likely means Netflix has higher engagement per user than its competition.

I don’t know.

All I know is the only video streaming platform I pay AND use regularly is YouTube Premium. That’s where it’s at for me.
